When the crust cools completely, I crumble it into a 9×13 plastic container that has a sealable lid. Add pie filling and let it set in refrigerator for several hours. It slices perfectly and is not hard.

    1. That sounds like a great idea, Emily! Thank you for the awesome feedback.

Help. My crust seems floury and not cooked.

    1. Hey Melissa, that’s really weird. how much flour and butter did you use? Thanks for the feedback!

Why is my crust always so hard? I’ve made this numerous times and the family loves it but I finally switched to a Graham cracker crust because I can not get my pecan crust is so hard and won’t cut for serving. What am I doing wrong?

    1. Hey Deatra, is it possible that you are overcooking it? A pecan nut crust should be crisp, but definitely not hard. Hope this helps!

Use margarine. This is the only recipe I use it in because the crust is too hard with butter. I have also tried to add oil to the butter, but the crust so much better with margarine.

Hi ladies! Have you tried using softened butter not melted butter? I use a pastry blender or fork. Be careful not to over cook it or it will scorch. It comes out flaky every time!
